Background: My love for listening and engaging with others has allowed me the opportunity to work alongside different individuals all sharing unique experiences. Attaining a Bachelor in Social Work has provided me with the skill and ability to effectively interact with people sharing their experiences and creating positive impact. In 2010, I volunteered at Children's Aid Society supporting families with back to school essentials establishing a level of comfort for children as they a new school year. In 2014, I had the opportunity to work alongside the youth from the Jane/Finch community, engaging in research learning opportunities and knowledge on community based participatory action research. In addition,I educated and advocated the rights of the people in the Jane/Finch community on the social issue of Carding. I had the pleasure of being a part of the Hunters Hill Technology College in Birmingham, England as a student volunteer in 2014 and 2015. I worked with at risk children who have been identified as having moderate learning, emotional and behavioural difficulties with a variety of needs. I supported both the students and teachers through a more hands-on approach to mentoring and teaching in the process of finding different ways to support the needs of the students. My love for people and providing opportunity regardless of the circumstance of an individual, has been a driving factor in how I interact with others. Working at Mind's Eye has allowed me the opportunity to use my knowledge and skill in an environment where interaction and engagement is essential. Mind's Eye is an inclusive space where we go beyond improving eyesight, but also recognizing the importance of how your physical, social, mental, and emotional well-being are just as important.
