Meet
Dr. Vivienne Chan OD,
Neuro-Visual Optometrist

Background: I received my first pair of glasses when I was 8 years old, and I hated them. Back then, glasses weren’t “cool” like they are today. I never wore them, and simply squinted my way through school. Everything changed in grade 5. I discovered that my classmate had contact lenses, and I couldn't believe what I had been missing. Contact lenses changed my life. Since joining the team in 2009, I have been able to provide similar transformational experiences to my patients through glasses, contact lenses, laser vision correction and Neuro-Visual Training.
Professional: O.D. with Dean’s Honours, University of Waterloo School of Optometry, 2009.
Undergraduate: Honours B.Sc., University of Waterloo, 2009.
Memberships: Canadian Association of Optometrists; Ontario Association of Optometrists; College of Optometrists of Ontario; Optometric Extension Program Foundation (Vision Therapy)
Giving back: I participate annually in the Hike for ALS with my family and team, Kelvin’s Angels. My dad fought courageously with this disease for 4.5 years, so I hike in his memory and in his honour.

Professional Interests: Contact lenses, paediatrics, laser vision co-management, neuro-visual training.
Personal notes: My husband and I welcomed our two daughters in 2016 and 2018. Watching them learn and grow has taught me so much about myself. I also enjoy great food, great company and a great glass of wine.
