Abygail Laking COVT, B.Sc.,
Neuro-Visual Trainer
Background: 👁 Aby has been a vision trainer at Mind's Eye Optometry for over 5 years. Her passion for athletics led her to a degree in Human Kinetics while playing hockey for the St. Francis Xavier University Women's program. Aby went on to play hockey at the professional level for the Calgary Inferno in the CWHL, before finishing her career with the Salzburg Eagles in the European women's hockey league. While playing in Calgary, Aby worked for Renfrew Educational Services, where she discovered her passion for working with children. There, she began her career as a Child Development Facilitator, working in an inclusive kindergarten classroom. Following her European adventure, she went on to do more schooling and earn a degree in Early Childhood Education.

Giving Back: Volunteered in a preschool classroom by supporting and engaging with children with special needs for KW Habilitation.
Professional Interests: Sports vision, early learning and child development
Personal Interests: Playing hockey, soccer and baseball, travelling, meeting new people and spending time with family and friends.
